Chainstay and Seatstay:
The RL9 Chainstay will be lighter and stronger then any previous
Rotec models. The CS/SS pivot yokes are machined from billet 6061
for strength and their design offers improved strength, stiffness
and weight reduction over previous designs.
Why does this matter?
Any reduction of weight from the RL9’s CS
and SC assemblies greatly reduces sprung weight. This overall
reduction of weight greatly improves factory shock tuning and
the overall performance from the rear end as a whole.
Chain stays (CS):17.18 inch
Seats stay (SS): 16.25 inch
Mainframe:
The 2006 RL9 offers improvements in strength and stiffness along
with improved production processes that payoff in the end product.
The design and flavor of the production RL9 is sexy and smooth........!
Drop links:
The production rear drop links offer major improvements over the
older designs utilized by Schwinn, Yeti, and Tomac as well as
having for the first time, a replaceable derailleur hanger. The
lower bearings will be outboard on the droplinks instead of inboard
on the dropouts to increase overall strength and stiffness at
the rear axle where it counts!
Rear spacing:
150mm for zero dish with a 150mm hub.
Rear Floater (brake):
All RL9’s come with a 51 x 8” rear floating brake
as standard equipment. You shouldn’t have to pay extra for
performance that should be stock!
Rear axle:
The rear axle is a standard 12mm thru-axle that offers improved
stiffness for the rear end.
Rear shock:
Progressive Suspension will be the OE spec shock. All RL9's will
come with the CVT3 9.5x3. The RL9 frameset performs quite nicely
with other shocks as well. But then again we plead the
5th!!
